Ten dirt simple hacks to say goodbye to "Over thinking"

  1. Have your emotion for less people and things.
  2. Don't get overtly attached to something or someone.
  3. Success is temporary, failure is not permanent.
  4. Have a 10 minutes daily ritual for overthinking at 8:00 PM.
  5. Learn to be disciplined and teach your mind to overthink at 8:00 PM.
  6. Channelize your overthinking into beautiful piece of art. Draw sketches, write poems, stories, fiction, etc. Get the creative juices flowing.
  7. Be busy in meaningful things. Engage yourself constructively and there is no time for even that 8 PM daily ritual. Trust me!
  8. Start giving back to people around you online, offline.
  9. Don't expect anything from anyone. It's difficult yet possible.
  10. The positive vibes you'll release now, travels to far off places, even thousand miles away to help, cheer and inspire others. And, when someone gets inspired, you get back the positivity spread by you, which is now ten times stronger that what you released. What goes around comes around getting stronger. (But, remember-S.No-9)

How To Deal With Too Many Options?

By doing too many things without thinking where I am heading, without worrying about gain or pain.
By moving forward after falling and then rising every time.
People say you do too many things and are bound to fail.
I fail to listen and keep running pursuing different passions.
I prepared a list of 35-40 things that I wanted to do. Then, I filtered out some of them, clubbed many and finally landed at 19 Things that make me happy
I started following them crazily.
I Read books. Write summaries.
Do Volunteering. Write.
Enjoy the company of nature. Write.
Surfing Internet to Know or learn something new. Write.
Photography. Write to compliment each unique photo.
Travelling. Write about the experience.
Food. Cook And write
Lift someone’s spirit,  Mentor someone. Write
Watching good movies & documentaries, Write reviews
Home Decoration. Write.
In this process, I found clarity. I realized that I'm interested in niche blogging
I have too many options and so I run many niche blogs. Here is a glimpse. You can apply this for whatever is your calling.

Is it too late to make a comeback?

Is It Too Late?: I am 24-years-old and feel like a complete failure who has wasted many, many years. What can I do to quickly get myself back on track?

No. Stop living in your mind. Take a piece on paper and start writing all that interests you. Set your mind free and don't worry if you have the skills or not.
How to quickly get back on track?
The answer to this lies in your answer to this question-What I want to do if money is not an issue?
  • I can't answer for your behalf but to help you get an idea. I'm sharing mine.
  • For me, the list was too long.
  • After removing the clutter, I felt that
  • Writing and observing people and things are two key skills. Passive skills. What the hell can I do by saying that I love to write.
  • My secondary Interests were Photography, Gardening, Home Decoration, Cooking, Watching Documentaries, Mentoring, Motivating People, etc.
  • I started revolving my secondary Interests around the Primary Interest of Writing and observation skills.
  • The observation skills helps to notice small things that often go unnoticed.
  • I'm feeling a lot happy, enjoying my life by doing what I love doing.
  • I've a day job that I enjoy because it's a wonderful place to get the ideas for writing along with a good place for those with people skills.
  • By doing all this, got featured in Business Insider for suggestions on Interpersonal skills.
  • So, I got lucky. Lucky things happen when you keep doing many things till you start finding the clue.
  • When you are still siting the room doing nothing then you can't get the real idea about what's your calling.

How Should I Make A Hard Decision?

Being specific is a good problem solving technique. "Making a hard life decision" is so generic that even after breaking it down into many pieces, it was difficult to understand. Let's see a sample case study.

Case study- I have completed my B-Tech and have got offers from couple of Tech support companies. Is it worth leaving that and trying to get a job of Java Developer from off-campus.
  1. Main Problem-
    1. Should I leave tech support job offers just because I want to be a software developer?
  2. Break down the Problem-
    1. Is it worth joining a tech support job when I want to be a software developer.
    2. Can I afford being jobless even after graduating from college.
    3. What people will think- I have a reputation to live up to.
    4. Will it be embarrassing for my parents, siblings?
    5. Do I have the fire in the belly to chase my dreams.
    6. How will I find a job?
    7. What if I failed? It is safe to join a tech support and try for Programming jobs.
  3. Answer each problem that is mentioned about, I am answering the answers my brother gave when he was in college.
    1. No. I don't want to spend time playing cricket if I want to be a Goal Keeper.
    2. Yes, it's okay to be jobless unless you and parents feel otherwise. It's a phase of life and comes in everyone's life. I know I have a tough road ahead. Still, I want to work on my programming skills and get a job of Java Developer.
    3. We can't make everyone happy. It's doesn't matter what other's think until my family feels that I am bringing disrepute to them.
    4. (This was answered by me)- We are proud on you and would back you no matter what happens. Don't live someone else's dream.
    5. I am hard working and I've a great learning attitude. Software Engineering is all about flexibility. If I am not worthy then I will be sidelined during mid ages. I have strong desire to learn.
    6. Bangalore is the best place for starting my job hunting. I have found out about an institute, JLC that is a good place for honing programming skills. I will go for off-campus drives and I'm sure that sooner or later I will land at a good java developer profile.
    7. It is not at all safe to kill my dreams. I want to go to Bangalore.

After graduating in July last year from Medicaps Indore. My brother, Rohit  is undergoing training at JLC, Bangalore. I has attended several drives. He got nothing in hand....not even disappointments. He is still so optimistic and he is just one good day away from sitting in his cubicle writing codes. Seven Career Tips From a Jobless guy on Career Consultant

What I Want Every Indian To Know?

Yesterday, I was having a discussion with an Indian (Muslim). The discussion we had unfolded many interesting anecdotes from our first hand experience. And, I want every other Indian to know these irrespective of their religion.
  1. He told that when he was in UAE, the feeling of patriotism knows no boundary.
  2. When we are outside our country, we only identify the other person as a fellow countrymen, an Indian- not a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Bihari, Punjabi, etc
  3. The Religion, caste, creed, regional or linguistic boundaries are not at play when we are outside India.
  4. Politicians divide.... Pakistan Unite....what an Irony? We consider Pakistan as an enemy and it's our enemy which unite us- which makes us rise to the occasion to show our patriotism every time a terrorist strikes.
  5. When he was in Abu Dhabi, he and his Pakistani colleague were returning to their respective home country. While he was given a royal treatment, the other guy was interrogated as if he was a criminal.
  6. When  his Pakistani colleague questioned about the different treatment to him, he told that it's all about the difference in the colour of our Passport. Our blue Passport is ourgateway to respect.
  7. I can see the pride of my friend who was beaming with pride that there is immense respect for India & Indians in UAE, unlike Pakistan.
  8. Only in areas with less literacy, the caste and religion are still an issue. TheProgressive Indians are very accommodating of the personal belief of anybody else.
  9. India is a tolerant nation. You cannot judge the character of a nation by a few off incidents which can happen anywhere in the world. There are always some miscreants in every community and every nation.
  10. His Hindu friend once told that he went to Mosque in UAE as all his friends went and he even read Namaz with them. Personally, I appreciate such gestures. After all, a Hindu won't turn into a Muslim by doing so, neither a Muslim can became hindu if he celebrates Indian Festivals with friends.
  11. In college, when we used to play Holi, the hindu festival of colors, our Muslim friends were more than happy to not just join but take the lead.
  12. And, we used to do small gestures of kindness during Ramazan for our Muslim friends.
  13. If you're educated and still you've so much hatred against the other communities then I seriously worry about the quality of education imparted to you.
  14. Please education anyone who has any kind of negative feeling for the other communities- whether based on religion, gender, caste, creed, region, language. I've done a little in that direction, request you to keep the Chain of Unity moving forward through each one of us.
  15. Indian loves India- End of story. No need to classify us as Indian Hindu, Indian Muslim, etc.
  16. Hinduism is a way of Life. We have many Gods. We are mocked for having so many Gods. Actually, the supreme God is one. The other Gods are manifestation of the same Supreme God. Everyone can have different Gods who appeal to the follower. There are various philosophies and there is nothing like right or wrong. Everything is a different shade of grey.
  17. So, we have a luxury to customize our Gods. Someone may be a ardent follower of Lord Shiva, someone else might me considering Lord Vishnu as the supreme God.
  18. It's so flexible. I love it because there is no hard and fast compulsion. I also love to see the dedication of a Muslim friend who would pray 5 times a day. After all, it's our private affair, why should anyone else judge someone else's religious belief.
  19. And, that's harmony. I wish I am able to convey my message clearly. Pardon me for even slightly hurting anyone's sentiments.

How Balaji Viswanathan Manages To Write Long, Elaborate And Great Answers?

As per his LinkedIn Profile, Balaji is "Product Manager at Black Duck Software".
How does he manage to write long, elaborate and great answers?
It is so because he finds time to do what will help million of people online. In the process, he became an Icon for many people across the globe. I'm an ardent fan of Balaji and here is my take on this question.
  1. Purpose driven- He is not on Quora for entertainment. He write long, elaborate and great answers which servers various purposes outside Quora.
  2. He is a published author. I took inspiration from him and Business Insider featured my suggestions on Interpersonal skills. Those answers from where the they took input had less than 20 upvotes.
  3. Upvotes don't indicate Quality. Balaji taught me early through his Quora answers that Upvotes are not a benchmark of Quality. Writing content of less or no value is a real waste of time. This left him with no choice other than quitting or writing helpful stuffs.
  4. Write stuffs that inspire your readers. While I stopped writing for audience- over a dozen quora answers got thousands of upvotes each. Balaji taught that Patience pays...Know your audience but don't write just for them. Let Quality attract readers.
  5. His answers would be an asset while writing books. I'm sure that his quora answers would help him publish many books on wide range of topics like Business Starategy, Startups, Indian History, India, Indian Ethnicity & People, Economics, Politics of India, History, World History, International Relations, Jobs and careers, etc.
  6. Balaji knows how to get lucky and that's why he finds time to write great answers Rohan Sinha's answer to How do I get some of my best Quora answers published in TIME, Forbes, Fortune like Balaji Viswanathan?
Is Balaji Viswanathan lucky?
Yes, he is!
He is lucky because he has sharp memory, good reading speed, good command over language to explain complicated things in an easy way. The analogies he uses are just awesome.
He is so lucky. I don't feel jealous of him. Because, I know how he got lucky.
Because, I know how to get published in TIME, FORBES,etc.
He is lucky because he works hard. He is a published author because he works hard, really hard. He is disciplined and self motivated. He is on quora for many years and is contributing constantly. It reflects his level of commitment. He writes quality stuffs. He entertains while explaining the most boring topics. He even upvoted couple of my really long, boring but helpful answers. So yes, he has patience, also.
Above all, he is a master execution specialist. He gets things done. When you keep learning and writing high quality stuffs that helps the readers immensely then sooner or later you will get published in TIME, FORBES,etc.
LUCKY THINGS HAPPEN WHEN WE KEEP DOING MANY THINGS!
All the best :)

One Important Life Lesson

Sometimes we fail once to learn a lesson. Sometimes failing twice might ensure that we embibe that lesson. However, some lessons are too hard to implement in our life. Some lessons still are difficult to bring in practice even after failing for 3,4,5...n numbers of times. It hurts...It's frustrating yet can't tell to anyone. It makes us feel like a loser who can't learn a simple lesson. Don't hold your tears...don't hold your footsteps. I'm 28 And I've Screwed My Life. Is It Too Late?

You have not screwed your life provided you learn from your mistakes. Everything that happens in life is an experience.
Steve Jobs was regarded as a Perfectionist but he was far from perfect and that's what makes him an inspiring role model.
  • He failed to hire the right person when he cherry picked John Sculley.
  • John choreographed the exit of the man who hired him- Steve Jobs.
  • Steve Jobs was kicked out from the company founded by him- i.e. Apple.
  • Jobs made a re-entry into Apple after 12 years - stronger, better and with a wide array of experiences under his belt.
  • He used illegal drugs during college, dropped out and had failed relationships.
Take Steve as an Inspiration and trust me, your background would never hold your footsteps. You're in Jail and now you're writing a question on an International Platform- Quora. Your experience is unique and of high value to us.
Valmiki has written the epic poem - Ramayana which is highly revered and respected across the world. Valmiki was a robber who used to kill people and rob them prior to turning into a legendary poet and saint who is revered for his greatness.
There is never too late to do something or to be something in life. I'm sorry, you're late and probably you can't be the youngest computer science graduate now but that's not what is troubling you. Am I right?
It was neither too late for Jobs to be revered as a legend nor Valmiki to quit his past and transform himself into a great writer-poet.
Enough of motivation!!! Get up now and fold your sleeves. You've a tough road ahead like all of us. Let us sail through hell cheering each other. You're not alone...there are many people who are sailing through the same sea of confusion, fear and uncertainty.
You can do it..we can do it because there is never too late to be great.

I am Good for Nothing-  Everything in this universe is for some purpose. Crocodile cannot fly and Butterfly cannot swim. There is no point for the crocodile to feel bad that he cannot fly or the butterfly to feel bad for not being able to swim. Doesn't it makes sense. Same is with all of us. We just need to identify things which makes us happy.

I have wasted X years of my life- We feel that we have wasted our life but you know, nothing is wasted in this world. Do you know the story of bamboo tree?  It doesn’t show sign of growth in first four- five years. But, in the next one year it will grow rapidly. Now, the reality is that the growth doesn't occur only in one year, it happens over a period of 5-6 years.

During the first 5 years the growth of roots is happening and the foundation is getting stronger which let the bamboo to grow rapidly in last one year. Same is with all of us. We just need six months to a year to have a visible growth. All the years before that are definitely not wasted. Believe me.  Good experience gives you joy, bad experience build your character and personality. So, they both are equally important.

I don't have Natural Talent-  Galileo told that the earth moves around the sun. But at that time, Everyone  felt that he was wrong and people wanted to kill him. Everyone knew that  Earth was fixed and sun revolved around the earth, which was later proved wrong . Galileo was considered as a mad man all his life. The poor chap got all the recognition after his death. Even today all our textbooks are full with works of  Galileo.

Not only him, Abraham Lincoln was unable to win even a local election, all his life he failed in whatever he did. He failed more than us for sure and see one day he became the president of US. It was not luck but hard work. Remember the bamboo story. See it's working.

It will not work out- Follow your heart and chase your dreams as they are worth it. There is nothing which can't work out even when the idea looks ridiculous to others. The key is that you must believe in the idea, that’s it.

In India, almost everyone loves cricket and is a cricket commentator. But, that doesn't stopped Harsha Bhogle from becoming a full time Cricket Commentator after his post graduation from IIM Ahmadabad. He must have been mocked for his choice of profession but he had passion for it and he pursued something he loved doing. If you are a Movie Buff - You can be an expert reviewer and can also earn and get paid for watching movies and writing reviews.

I am at a Disadvantage-  Disability is the inability to know ability. Read out the lessons from so-called disadvantaged girls, Virali Modi,  Miss Wheelchair India 2014, Runner Up  and Ira Singhal, Differently abled UPSC Topper .  Rohan Sinha's answer to When is it advantageous to be disadvantaged?

I don't give a damn to People- The world is all about people. Make sure to be nice and respectful to others. Always strive to add value to the life of others. Never let good people go out of your sight. Thanks for your time.  :)

Many wants to marry someone with good looks, slim body , Fair skin, Fat paycheck and/or high social status, leaving the chance to get an intelligent spouse to their luck or karma.

What should men know by 22?

You are on the verge of getting into the job market. Here are some things that will be helpful
  1. Find a Mentor in your industry.
  2. Never quit on a dream. Keep half an hour aside each day for making your dream a reality.
  3. Work hard, really hard. No work is small. When I joined, I got the job of following up with people who defaulted on their commitments. It felt like a Mechanical engineer is doing a BPO job in a construction company. Thankfully I had a 2 years bond of 2 Lakh else I would have run away. Within few months, I started interacting with clients and suppliers. I was handling things on my own. I have seen extremes as a newbie. The transition from a less demanding role to a high demanding one was not easy but enriching. So, have patience and learn to do so-called small jobs at times.
  4. Rejections are prized possessions-I failed to get into IITs even after 2 sincere attempts, when my friend was 22, he was so obsessed with IITs that he told that he would take re-birth again to get into IITs. Please don’t judge him, his elder brother was an IITian and he must have experienced something which made him tell so.
  5. Never be ashamed if you are not placed during campus placement. Campus Placement is over-hyped.
My brother is 22, he completed his engineering from one of the top 5 colleges of MP but he couldn’t get placed in the campus selection.  We knew the scenario of placement in MP, so have asked him to prepare well in advance for the placement season. He studied hard but still, he couldn’t make it to any of the good companies that visited his campus. He is unplaced. But, don’t pity on him.

He would often clear the written test. Time and again he was getting rejected in the final round of selection.  It was a great feat to get into the last 15-20 students out of a pool of more than 1000 candidates, that too after surviving many rounds. For us, he was a winner but for the world he was just another guy who failed to grab a job in campus.

He is currently honing his programming skills at the best institute in Bangalore. It has been a little more than a month and the confidence he has got is incredible. I am sure that he can land in a decent job soon. Though, we are not in hurry and have advised him to take a job only where he can learn and grow professionally. Money is secondary thing for a fresher. Some of my cousins have followed the same path and have started their career with as low as 10K bucks per month and now after 8-9 years, they all are earning  15+ LPA. So, don’t think that if you start with a small company then you are going to be struck with a low paying job.

I am sharing about him now just because there are many other 22 years old who are upset as they have graduated and have no job in hand. People with good intentions also end up hurting guys who are unplaced. A week ago my sister got job offers from two reputed IT companies. She already had a job offer from an upcoming startup where she did her Internship this summer. I also got two job offers in college. All this, make people compare my brother with us. We were from a college that has a good placement record. I am glad that our family has learned not to panic in this situation.

The extra struggle my brother has to do will only make him stronger and better. When you have positive attitude then adversity is a better teacher than luxury.  I keep reminding him that  5 year down the line , we all will give his examples to all those who are unplaced.

WORK HARD, HOPE for the best! God help those who help themselves. If you need any help, feel free to ping me. :)
