Things that adults can learn from Children

  • Be in the moment-  When we grow up, we sometimes start living less in the moment. We tend to worry for the past or future. Kids never do that and are always in the present moment. So, Let us be a child and be in the moment and enjoy it.
  • We can bounce back every time we fall-  A child got injured and cried a lot.  But, after 5 minutes, she was playing  and was extremely happy. I realized what she taught. I told her Thank you and she smiled!
  • Speak up your mind- We went to Shillong in 1996 and my 4 years old little brother fall for a girl ( around 23-25 years old) who was about to marry. She also loved him and he  asked her to marry him.  And guess what, Everyone was so delighted to hear that. Beautiful memories:). He was so fast, i never proposed anyone till date.
  • Life is always beautiful- When our needs are less then our means looks more. Kids are satisfied with little expenses like a Dairy Milk or an Ice-cream bar but are happier than adults who are generally aspire for big house, hefty paycheck, big title, etc to be happy. So, we can learn to be happier from them. STOP Chasing START Living!
  • Spend more time with people than gadgets- As a kid, we didn't had so many gadgets so we use to play games that involved other kids. We used to wave at stranger or do mimicry of them. People were an essential part of our survival. They still are but the uncomfortable silence in the Escalator kills me.
  • Smile- Adults smile and laugh less than kids. Smiling for the sake of smiling is different from natural laughing and smiling. Hope you will understand.
  • Follow your heart- Yesterday, I called my cousin and she wanted her 2 years old son to talk to me but he wasn't interested as it was raining and he was enjoying rain. Cutie Pie :) He was just following his heart :) I wish I could also do so sometimes when my Boss calls. :(
  • Love is eternal- I often watch Indian Idol Junior and it fills my heart with joy when I see that when one kid is performing, 3-4 others kids are supporting his/her act with full sincerity as  chorus singers even when they are competitor. I feel inspired to watch and learn from  children.
  • Learn to be less sophisticated- I am tired of being too formal and sophisticated and like a kid, I want to be casual and easygoing. And that is why  I enjoyed so much travelling in a state transport bus.
  • Learn to ask questions when you don't know the answer.
