It is not true (though it looks correct) that boys are more interested in girls and girls are less interested in boys.
When boys are more interested in girls, it means that they are in demand and due to huge supply of attentions, boys ensure that she becomes out of his reach.
Boys run behind a girl who is followed by hundred and thousands of other boys and she will run behind her dream and/or a boy who is not behind her.
For a star girl, the boys who want to be her friend will not interest her and she often want to be friend will someone else who shows little interest in her. Same applies for a popular boy. Only difference is that girls are not that vocal about their preference in countries like India though things are changing fast.
It is not logical but psychological that we all aim for things that are beyond reach or a liitle difficult. Normally people don't settle for something which is easily avaliable. Hope you will agree else dismiss it as the ignorance of a stupid mechanical engineer working in construction industry. I know my brethren will like it :)
