A carefree Life starts at 60

Me- Why don't you people shift to Metro cities after the retirement of Dad. He can even work here and enjoy life as he didn't have to worry about money or responsibilities at work or home. We all are grown up now.

Mom- I want to live in big cities. I will discuss with your Dad about his plan.

When Mom told that to Dad, he was like I love this place and our home, it's so peaceful. I don't want to work after retirement like Mr. G.  We have a secured retirement. Why should I work after retirement?

So, one day, I though to discuss on that with Dad.

I advised my Dad that you have a wide experience in the finance sector and so you can get an awesome job in a Metro city like Bangalore. But do you want to work after retirement from your job.

He told that he had never thought of it.

Now, it was payback time for me. He has been my guide, my teacher and my mentor. So, I just wanted to give some career counselling to my Dad,

I told him that you have worked really hard all your life. You have got transfers to remote places, your job was tough but you did that cheerfully and now after few years you will retire.

I know you are a financial adviser to many and you have secured your retirement financially. You will also earn a handsome pension after retirement and you will have enough money to be financially independent throughout your life.

Plus, I know you don't need any support from us. But, we all three children would pamper and would always make you and Mom feel proud. You really don't need to work after 60 years. But, I feel you will get bored all day when you don't have to go anywhere.

I want you to follow your heart and do something that you would love doing for may be 5 more years. Pursue your hobby, Be a free lancer financial consultant, or work as a Relationship Manager or Finance Expert for a MNC. Do what you love but don't retire just to watch TV . Please plan something that you find meaningful.
Life starts at 60 :)

Mom- Yesterday I was telling your Dad to make more cupboards for storing showpiece. You know what your Dad told.

Me - No! What did he said?

Mom- He refused.

Me- Why?

Mom- He told that we have already spent so much on this home and Rohan was telling about moving to Bangalore. Let us not spend a penny here after all who is going to stay here afterward.

Me- Wow! ( It was amazing to make my Dad reconsider his retirement plan) I am glad he is not going to read this else....
