How can one justify low CGPA during an Interview?

Situation- Off campus drive of a MNC in Bangalore
Interviewer- Why should I hire you after seeing your low CGPA?
Candidate- My CGPA is just 6.02/10 and I am sure that it is less than 85–90% of the people who came for this drive.
(Pauses for 2 sec and makes eye contact with the interviewer)
Candidate-There must be more than 5000 people who wrote the written test for this opening. Almost 1000–1200 were called today for further rounds after clearing written test.
Out of 1200, almost 900 were eliminated after the Group Discussion.
Then top 300 went for Technical Interview and just 90 were selected in Technical Interview for the HR Round.
Even with the baggage of poor CGPA, I did better than 98% of the interested candidates. I wish that if I am suitable for the job, my CGPA shouldn’t affect your decision. ..however, that’s my opinion. You’re the best judge.
May the best candidates get the job…
Interviewer- Impressive!
Result- Selected

Eight Career Tips From This Guy

  1. Money won't make you Rich. Intention Matters. Action Counts.
    1. He was raising fund for a college senior suffering from blood cancer.
    2. He looked worried that he can't do much as he is not earning.
    3. I volunteered to his cause as he taught me a lesson that we need  generosity and willpower not money to do great things.
    4. Small drops fill the ocean.
  2. The real problem that holds us back is our own fears, insecurity and negativity.
    1. His friend was cribbing, how his relatives keep asking about what's going on in his life.
    2. Ravi was upset as he was jobless and hence has stopped all communication with them.
    3. He explained Ravi that the problem is not with the relatives but with our own insecurity and inferiority complex.
    4. Even, my relatives ask me the same questions and I reply that, "I'm honing my Java programming skills and I'm going for interviews. Hopefully, I would get a job soon."
  3. Nobody can hurt us without our permission.
    1. When he was mocked for being jobless for a good 6 months after completing his B-Tech in IT from one of the reputed college in Indore.
    2. He replied with a cool head, "I am Jobless. Not worthless. It's a phase of life that will pass."
  4. Be genuinely happy on success on others and learn to not feel bad when you'll be labeled as a loser. (refer point- 3)
    1. On being shamed by mates for offering sweets as his younger sister got a job at a prestigious product based company- Intel while he was jobless guy struggling in Bangalore.
    2. He replied, "My sister is not my competitor. She got what she deserved and I'm proud on her".
  5. Find simple and innovative ways  to use technology.
    1. "I once told him to use mobile as a learning tool".
    2. Never in my wildest dream, I thought that he would even use that for recording audio lecture while attending classes and would use that as a reference while studying at PG.
    3. Performing beyond expectation is a great quality.
  6. How far you can go to support a cause you believe in?
    1. The farewell messages on the white t-shirt he left at home has some compliments that blew my mind.
    2. His roommate wrote that, "You are the best roommate I can ever get".
    3. Later, I came to know that as his roommate was not so conscious about cleanliness so, he even made bed of his roommate as he likes cleanliness. Really, I have never even thought of going that far.
    4. A possible situation of conflict between him and his roommate turned them into friends for life. And, that's why I believe that we don't get friends, we earn them.
  7. What goes around comes around getting stronger....
    1. I am mentoring this guy for quite sometime and he don't even know that actually it's the other way round.
    2. I rarely see people with such positivity.
    3. Talking to him charges me up and leaves me motivated.
  8. What doesn't kill makes you stronger...
    1. I can go on and on but I must admit that I got really emotional when I first wrote this as he is my brother, Rohit Sinha .
    2. His Linked profile summary is so positive and sums up everything I wrote here.
PS- This post is dedicated to all those who are in a similar situation. Be strong. Stay Positive and keep Learning. Hope my dashing brother would've inspired you.
I am passionate about working in a Startup because I have a great learning attitude. I am a self starter and I want to get an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute at a Startup in Bangalore.
  • Oh! God, If you're testing him, please come for an inspection as the product is ready. Getting a job from off campus is such a difficult thing wherethousands of candidate are lurching for a few vacancies.
  • It's like snatching food from the lion's mouth. I wish to see him working as a Java Developer soon. I am learning from his failed interviews and there are wonderful lessons in store which I will publish later.
  • If you are going through rough patch. Connect to him at Quora LinkedInas he is my mentor who shows me how to survive hell with a smile and positive attitude. When people like him are jobless, I feel ashamed working at a reputed company.

Ten dirt simple hacks to say goodbye to "Over thinking"

  1. Have your emotion for less people and things.
  2. Don't get overtly attached to something or someone.
  3. Success is temporary, failure is not permanent.
  4. Have a 10 minutes daily ritual for overthinking at 8:00 PM.
  5. Learn to be disciplined and teach your mind to overthink at 8:00 PM.
  6. Channelize your overthinking into beautiful piece of art. Draw sketches, write poems, stories, fiction, etc. Get the creative juices flowing.
  7. Be busy in meaningful things. Engage yourself constructively and there is no time for even that 8 PM daily ritual. Trust me!
  8. Start giving back to people around you online, offline.
  9. Don't expect anything from anyone. It's difficult yet possible.
  10. The positive vibes you'll release now, travels to far off places, even thousand miles away to help, cheer and inspire others. And, when someone gets inspired, you get back the positivity spread by you, which is now ten times stronger that what you released. What goes around comes around getting stronger. (But, remember-S.No-9)

Session with Rohit: Learn Tips to crack PSU Interviews

If you have queries related to ISRO or anything else that might help you crack interviews of PSUs. Shoot your questions as comments. I will then act as a medium between you all and Rohit. I know he don't likes writing but he is a wonderful guy-my college roommate and one of my best friend. I will interview him and get your doubts resolved.
Follow this blog Career Consultant to get notified.
Know a bit about him,
My friend Rohit Mittal cleared ISRO's Interview and here are some things that I learned from him which will help you crack it.
  1. Focus on Fundamentals and have a sound technical knowledge.
  2. On a scale of 1 to 10, he rated the interview's difficulty as 8.
  3. During his time, only 15% weightage was for Interviews and balance 85% weightage was for Written Test. Hence, if someone is too worried about the interviews then they can score better in the written test to compensate a little lacuna in the interview.
  4. The same guy cleared Jindal Steel and Power Limited, worked there for 7-8 months, paid a little over two lakh as bond breaking value.
  5. Finally, he joined BHEL as the joining came before ISRO.
  6. He was the same guy who came out early in an exam and when I asked the reason as the paper was lengthy, "He replied that he has wrote enough to pass the exam".
  7. He is sharp. He is a child prodigy.
  8. Toppers from my college failed to get into any of the PSUs and this guy was cracking one exam after another.
  9. If many people are interested, I will look forward to request him to reply to your queries.
  10. Haven't I told you that he is one of my best buddy. Dost fail ho jaaye to dukh hota hai...dost top kare to jayada dukh hota hai... Kidding :P (It feels bad when a friend fails, it feels worse when a friend Tops an exam)

What Are The 11 Myths People Have In their 20s About Career & Life?

  1. I have failed, I envy others.
    1. Nothing is permanent.
    2. Failures are commas not full stop.
    3. A girl failed to get Science as she got less marks in Class Xth and hence she opted for Commerce. Many frowned upon her. Today, I got to know that she did LLB and after than did her Masters from Europe and has got an hefty offer.
    4. I work for the largest Construction company in India and make a little less than half of her salary.
    5. Although Money, College, Job, etc are poor benchmark of success yet I have used money as a benchmark just to give an idea about how the society judges us.
    6. Never envy others and learn to appreciate others when they achieve something good. She is a wonderful person and I am happy that many will be inspired to know about her.
  2. I am waiting for the perfect moment- There is nothing called perfect moment. Try to get the maximum out of whatever you have. Minimize Procrastination, and never wait for the perfect moment. Life happens when we wait for the perfect moment.
  3. It has been too late to learn or take charge of our life- It is never too late to learn and improve our life. Do you feel that you have not achieved enough at say 21 years.
    1. Let me share about APJ Abdul kalam. He was a popular scientist but he became world famous after he was chosen as India's president at the age of 70 years. He was literally unknown till 70 years of age.
    2. Charles Darwin, yes from your Biology Textbook was considered as Insane as till 50 years of age, according to people he was a wanderer. He was doing research and when he published his book after 50 years of age, he started getting recognition.
    3. Albert Einstein has worked as a Clerk but that didn't prevented him from becoming a great scientist of all time.
  4. I don't have zeal to learn- Larry Page invented Google and it became a dream company for many people.
    1. He just followed his passion. May be he was also not having the zeal to learn or work on the traditional subjects. So he created something new.
    2. Initially, he even went to sell it to Yahoo, who felt that it was too overpriced.
  5. Our Problems are terribly difficult- Our problems are not as difficult as it seems to us. 20 years down the line it will hardly matter if you got a plum job after college or you are jobless, if you have a GF/BF or not in college, if you have failed in the exams or have topped it. Meet me after 20 years and we will discuss your current problems over coffee.
  6. I am Good for Nothing-  Everything in this universe is for some purpose. Crocodile cannot fly and Butterfly cannot swim. There is no point for the crocodile to feel bad that he cannot fly or the butterfly to feel bad for not being able to swim. Doesn't it makes sense. Same is with all of us. We just need to identify things which makes us happy.
  7. I have wasted X years of my life- We feel that we have wasted our life but you know, nothing is wasted in this world.
    1. Do you know the story of bamboo tree
    2. It doesn’t show sign of growth in first four- five years. But, in the next one year it will grow rapidly.
    3. Now, the reality is that the growth doesn't occur only in one year, it happens over a period of 5-6 years.
    4. During the first 5 years the growth of roots is happening and the foundation is getting stronger which let the bamboo to grow rapidly in last one year.
    5. Same is with all of us. We just need six months to a year to have a visible growth. [I've six month of my Unique Quora Experience which transformed me by leaps and bound]
    6. All the years before that are definitely not wasted. Believe me.
    7. Good experience gives you joy, bad experience build your character and personality. So, they both are equally important.
  8. I don't have Natural Talent- Galileo told that the earth moves around the sun. But at that time, Everyone  felt that he was wrong and people wanted to kill him. Everyone knew that  Earth was fixed and sun revolved around the earth, which was later proved wrong .
    1. Galileo was considered as a mad man all his life. The poor chap got all the recognition after his death. Even today all our textbooks are full with works of  Galileo.
    2. Not only him, Abraham Lincoln was unable to win even a local election, all his life he failed in whatever he did. He failed more than us for sure and see one day he became the president of US. It was not luck but hard work. Remember the bamboo story. See it's working.
  9. It will not work out- Follow your heart and chase your dreams as they are worth it. There is nothing which can't work out even when the idea looks ridiculous to others. The key is that you must believe in the idea, that’s it.
    1. In India, almost everyone loves cricket and is a cricket commentator.
    2. But, that doesn't stopped Harsha Bhogle from becoming a full time Cricket Commentator after his post graduation from IIM Ahmadabad.
    3. He must have been mocked for his choice of profession but he had passion for it and he pursued something he loved doing.
    4. If you are a Movie Buff - You can be an expert reviewer and can also earn and get paid for watching movies and writing reviews.
  10. I am at a Disadvantage- Disability is the inability to know ability. Read out the lessons from so-called disadvantaged girls, Virali Modi,  Miss Wheelchair India 2014, Runner Up and Ira Singhal, Differently abled UPSC Topper .Rohan Sinha's answer to When is it advantageous to be disadvantaged?
  11. I don't give a damn to People- The world is all about people. Make sure to be nice and respectful to others. Always strive to add value to the life of others. Never let good people go out of your sight. Thanks for your time.  :)

Should I Intern At A Startup Where There Is No Chance Of Getting Absorbed Or Focus On Getting A Job?

That's a wonderful opportunity . Grab it with both hands. Please ask yourself the following questions while working there to be assured that the ship is sailing in the right direction.
  1. Do you enjoy the work?
  2. Are you learning new things?
  3. Are you able to make contacts and do networking with people who can help you land in a decent job?
  4. Are you happy? Yes/No and why?
Work as an intern at a startup even after knowing that you will not be absorbed. It's so because you will acquire the right skills by working there.
Positives:
  1. Find something hard, challenging and learn it.
  2. It's not about what you do but how you do-Three workers were asked a question "What are you doing?" while they were laying brick during construction. First worker replied that he was laying brick, Second worker replied that he was making a room and the third worker replied that I am contributing in construction of a wonderful building. All were doing the same thing but their response was different. We all have to be like the third worker as seeing the bigger picture keeps us motivated. {From the book- You can Win}
  3. Networking-You can make contacts with other like minded people by working at that company. It will help you in getting job offers from well established companies.
  4. It will help you to land at a job at MNCs- Treat this as if you are working on a live project as an internship. It will boast your confidence, build your knowledge and would help you during on/off campus placement.  My sister is in INTEL because she worked hard on a live project learning many things at a healthcare startup. Only two people got selected in INTEL from her branch and both worked at the same startup.
  5. Knowledge is Powerful- I can say so confidently as my sister told me that recruiters were impressed with the knowledge she accumulated during her internship at the startup. It provided her with a cutting edge advantage over others.
  6. Industry Exposure- You get to know what you like or dislike much earlier than landing in a full time job. While working on Startup, you'll get hands on experience even when you are in college.
  7. Don't limit yourself- Learn a bit about HR, Accounts, Marketing, Technical aspects, Getting Investors, etc. You never know, while working as an intern, someone might get interested to hire you at a MNC.
  8. Lucky things happen when we keep doing many things.- We had an interactive session with the management and I was quite expressive in my feedback. Suddenly, our Project Manager said that we should start a magazine and I couldn't resist spilling the beans. I told about my study of human behaviour and then their curiosity lead me to reveal about my online activities like writing on Quora, running half a dozen blogs with over 500 blogposts, getting my suggestions featured in Business Insider, etc. I have been appreciated by HR, Project Manager, and many employees who were clueless about it. Most likely, I'm going to start a magazine for our Project after accessing the viability. That's a big thing for me and was quite unexpected. If Quora can get me an opportunity to start a magazine then working on a startup can definitely open many doors.
  9. Focus to get real work experience not just a piece of paper certifyingthat you worked for x months and you'll fetch great returns in the form of a successful career.
  10. I am working on the post- "What HRs look in an ideal candidate- 21 Tips everyone must know in their 20s to fast track their Career Growth (Pattern Series- 3 of 11)". Interested people can followPsychological Patterns for getting notified when I publish it.

11 Tips for Mentors & Mentees

Key points for those who are Mentoring
  1. Your main job is to inspire not to teach
    1. My English tutor, my Sanskrit tutor and my teachers at kota taught me many subjects but what they truly did was that they inspired me.
    2. Then have given me the confidence to follow my dreams.
    3. They made me believe in myself.
    4. They deployed innovative ways to teach which made learning fun and enjoyable.
    5. All elements of Periodic Table were on our finger tip as my In-organic chemistry teacher had made a song for them like Zanabe Ali ne bekar gaaya Punjabi song aaj sab bhikari Indore gaye ( This song is for all those elements which act as metal and non-metal- Zn, Al, Pb, … oh!..... I forgot others)
  2. Motivate and encourage
    1. A good mentor is like an all weather friend who will go out of the way to come up with interesting and creative ways to inspire.
    2. They will always boast your confidence.
    3. They will make you feel comfortable and you will feel empowered in their company.
    4. They always motivate and encourage without getting affected by anything else.
  3. Never lose temper
    1. To be a good mentor, you need to be more patient and should never ever lose temper.
    2. Everyone is unique and all are capable to achieve anything they want in life. Your job as a mentor is to get them into Flow (Must Read about Flow).
    3. Encourage them to do things that makes them happy ( See my list of 19 things which makes me happy and then make yourlist).
  4. Be more compassionate
    1. Every one is special and unique.
    2. Different things motivate different people.
    3. If you can inspire them then they will achieve more than you would expect.
    4. My English Tutor made me so passionate about writing articles that I used to daily write 5-6 pieces of writing and I can sense the joy my tutor used to get from seeing me taking initiatives on my own.  He used to rate my articles on a scale of 1 to 10.
  5. Win support and trust of the pupil
    1. Find new ways to explain something so that they can relate.  Encourage your pupils to play on their strengths and overcome weaknesses.
    2. Win their support and trust, so that they can share their feelings with you without any inhibition.
    3. It will enable you to understand the needs of the pupil. Otherwise, you cannot prescribe the correct medicine for them without them explaining their correct requirement.
    4. So, as a mentor the onus is on you to get your pupils speak to you.
Key Points for those getting Mentored
  1. Communication skills
    1. Clearly explain what you feel or want to learn from your mentor.
    2. Unless you communicate properly, the mentor is not god that he/she can understand what’s going on in your mind.
  2. Lack of interest
    1. If the mentor fails to motivate you and you are lacking interest then let your mentor know about it.
    2. Good mentor welcome feedback and they can find out ways to help you overcome this.
  3. Not paying any attention to mentor’s advice- Let you mentor know what you feel about his/her advise. Mentors give advice for your betterment; if you can’t accept it for any reason, let them know about it politely with the reason.
  4. They will understand and will find a solution with is acceptable to you.
  5. Get determination and will power to get into FLOW
    1. No one can help you without your permission. Even, Gods help those who help themselves.
    2. So, understand that your mentor is just a human and will require your support in order to help you.
    3. Discuss your problems openly with your mentor. Don’t shy away.
    4. If the mentor is not co-operating then it is high time to get a new mentor, who is more understanding.
    5. And most important thing, to put your best efforts to get into FLOW by strong determination and will power.
  6. Keep Learning and pleasantly surprise the mentor
    1. You must keep learning always.
    2. If you are not enjoying the journey then relax and reassess your goals.
    3. Then, find ways to keep learning in a way that it is fun.
    4. And, most important thing, more often pleasantly surprise your mentor and make them feel proud on you.
    5. And, don’t forget very soon you have to be a MENTOR for someone and then you will realize their pain when you don’t respond to their efforts!!
    6. As a kid, I have made the life of my first tutor very difficult by throwing tantrums every now and then. Probably it’s time payback time for me as I find myself in his shoes.

Ask Questions To IIM Lucknow Alumini Saurav: How To Bell The CAT?

Dear Readers,
If you're an IIM Aspirant who is looking forward to bell the CAT. Do let me know what are the questions you would like to ask an Alumni of IIM Lucknow.
Use this Post as a Platform to ask meaningful questions  (via comments) that can help other CAT Aspirants. Also, learn about:
  • Life at IIM
  • Journey as a IIM Aspirant.
  • How to crack CAT while working without any coaching?
Please refrain from asking questions regarding percentile, score, rank as that boils down everything to just a number. We at this blog encourage readers to post well thought questions via comments and then I would brainstorm and  field those questions to an
IIM Lucknow Alumni, Saurav.
  1. It's my pleasure to introduce my friend, Saurav to all of you. He is an IIM Lucknow Alumni and has a charismatic personality.
  2. He has been a jack of all trade with expertise in some of them.
  3. He mentors us and has a helping nature. He has advice for everything and everyone.
  4. When I told him that my sister got into Intel, he voluntarily told me about people who were working at Intel.
  5. Same was the case, when I asked that my sister wants to do an Internship from Ola. That time, he told me about one of our batch-mate who was in Ola.
  6. He will advice me regrading  how my brother should do Job Hunting for a position of Java developer in Bangalore.
  7. He is a friend who unknowingly has a say in many of my decisions.
  8. Hmmm...Networking and Helping others has  been an attitude that makes him special.
  9. He was our Class Representative, Just remembered this piece of information..haha...
  10. This is getting too sweet for him. So, I would like to add that  he is brutally honest in his opinions.
  11. So, if I need an honest feedback, I remember him and time and again he proves that he has what it takes to be a critic. :P (jokes apart).
  12. I love to say, "When you've friends like him, you don't need enemies". :P (Slip of tongue)
We could've been roaming together in the campus during engineering or discussing over how electronic junk can be minimized. What could've we asked more that discussing about the traffic of Mumbai or cherishing our college days while strolling on Marine Drive.
I was really missing him when he left Mumbai to join IIM Lucknow.
We both have a special bond which makes it easier for us to discuss about a wide array of topics - Digital India, Politics, Quora (though he is not on Quora, I tell him about the stories I learn here), movies, cricket, his IIM stories. Yesterday, when I told him about this blog and my idea, he was more than happy to volunteer. He is truly an inspiration who got into IIM without any coaching while working for Tata Power.
What is in store for you?
  • A series of posts will be published periodically to show the Life at IIM from the first hand experience of an Alumni
  • An Interview with Saurav- A Glimpse of his journey as a IIM Aspirant.

8 Lessons I Learned While Mentoring My Siblings

Siblings:
Rohit - My brother did his B-tech from a reputed college in Indore. He was getting some tech support jobs which he chose not to go after as he was always passionate about being a Java Developer. He is undergoing training at a reputed Institute in Bangalore to hone his Java Programming skills.
He is also looking for a job as a Java Developer. His sheer Positive Attitude inspires not just those who are going through the phase of joblessness but many others. I've started this blog by drawing inspiration from him. Don't feel ashamed if you're currently jobless. It is a Phase of Life- At least, that's what he feels. LearnSeven Career Tips From my brother
Resha- Our little sister has got a job offer from Intel as a Software Developer. She is in 8th Sem and is currently an intern with Intel till July, after which she will join as a full time employee from August, this year. She is our benchmark of academics. She was an average student till first year of college but some good habits transformed her life by leaps and bounds.
She has worked on many projects that got her an opportunity to work as an Intern at a Startup. She was selected by Ericsson for Talent Development Program, successfully completed it. I am working on a post which will help aspiring software engineers to aim for dream companies and unleash the tremendous potential in them. Follow Career Consultant  to get notified when it is published.
Lessons Learned-
  1. Talk with conviction.
    1. I stand and walk while making some serious talking. It's bit embarrassing when someone is around.
    2. Make someone believe in your words. You can do that only by being brutally honest yet candid.
  2. Give analogy suitable as per the situation.
    1. My Dad burst into laughter when I told that even Resha might not clear the interview for which Rohit went as even she can't clear an interview every time.
    2. He added, you're right. *She has four job offers and two internships* Never failed in interviews for half a dozen companies.
  3. Address the root cause of the Problem.
    1. People knowingly or unknowing say things that hurts Mom.
    2. She don't like when people say that can't Resha give a job offer to Rohit.
    3. Is it a fruit? So, bringing her into picture.
    4. Making them understand that having a successful sibling is a deadly psychological advantage.
    5. Also, it helps in studies as they're in same city now.
  4. Make someone count their blessings.
    1. My parents really get happy when I remind them how much I admire my sister.
    2. They trust me when I say my brother is Jobless not worthless.... in fact, he is priceless.
  5. We often take loved ones for granted.
    1. I notice my behavior every time I get annoyed over my parents. It's frequency is decreasing yet I'm fallible...
    2. I'm human not a robot.
    3. I keep repeating the mistakes...keep regretting and keep doing corrective actions. It's all part of the game.
    4. Follow your interaction with your parents and/or other loved ones- Do notice how many times you hurt them.
  6. Don't be ashamed of your pitfalls- Try to rectify them. Rohit has a list of the lessons he learned from his failed interviews. You can also have your own that will tell you where you're heading. This guy is amazing not because he is my brother... he is also my mentor. Read Seven Career Tips From my brother
  7. Don't feel embarrassed if you're jobless-
    1. It's part of the game. I tell my brother that ten years down the line, his success would inspire many people while I, who has got job from campus would only appeal to a few who might need some tips for campus placement.
    2. *I'm glad that I'm able to gauge the motivation level of my brother and he is really a positive person.
  8. People do judge. I judge.
    1. I will not admit because I hate judging people.
    2. Still, I judge unknowingly. And that's why, "I didn't expressed my happiness due to sister's job while talking to him.
    3. He must have felt, how can my brother be so cold. After all he offered sweets to his PG mates when my sister got into INTEL.
    4. Some of the guys even asked him that don't he feel bad that his younger sister will start earning and he's still jobless.
    5. He didn't took his remarks seriously and told that she is my Sister not my competitor. She got what she deserved. I'm proud on her *
    6. I had goosebumps when I heard that.

How Should I Make A Hard Decision?

Being specific is a good problem solving technique. "Making a hard life decision" is so generic that even after breaking it down into many pieces, it was difficult to understand. Let's see a sample case study.

Case study- I have completed my B-Tech and have got offers from couple of Tech support companies. Is it worth leaving that and trying to get a job of Java Developer from off-campus.
  1. Main Problem-
    1. Should I leave tech support job offers just because I want to be a software developer?
  2. Break down the Problem-
    1. Is it worth joining a tech support job when I want to be a software developer.
    2. Can I afford being jobless even after graduating from college.
    3. What people will think- I have a reputation to live up to.
    4. Will it be embarrassing for my parents, siblings?
    5. Do I have the fire in the belly to chase my dreams.
    6. How will I find a job?
    7. What if I failed? It is safe to join a tech support and try for Programming jobs.
  3. Answer each problem that is mentioned about, I am answering the answers my brother gave when he was in college.
    1. No. I don't want to spend time playing cricket if I want to be a Goal Keeper.
    2. Yes, it's okay to be jobless unless you and parents feel otherwise. It's a phase of life and comes in everyone's life. I know I have a tough road ahead. Still, I want to work on my programming skills and get a job of Java Developer.
    3. We can't make everyone happy. It's doesn't matter what other's think until my family feels that I am bringing disrepute to them.
    4. (This was answered by me)- We are proud on you and would back you no matter what happens. Don't live someone else's dream.
    5. I am hard working and I've a great learning attitude. Software Engineering is all about flexibility. If I am not worthy then I will be sidelined during mid ages. I have strong desire to learn.
    6. Bangalore is the best place for starting my job hunting. I have found out about an institute, JLC that is a good place for honing programming skills. I will go for off-campus drives and I'm sure that sooner or later I will land at a good java developer profile.
    7. It is not at all safe to kill my dreams. I want to go to Bangalore.

After graduating in July last year from Medicaps Indore. My brother, Rohit  is undergoing training at JLC, Bangalore. I has attended several drives. He got nothing in hand....not even disappointments. He is still so optimistic and he is just one good day away from sitting in his cubicle writing codes. Seven Career Tips From a Jobless guy on Career Consultant

I'm Depressed After Reading About The Success of Steve Jobs

He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc.; CEO and largest shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios; a member of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors following its acquisition of Pixar; and founder, chairman, and CEO of NeXT Inc.
Well the above description might give complexion to many. There are other aspects of his personality
  • He was born out of wedlock and hence was given for adoption due to the social stigma attached to raising a child born before marriage.
  • His adoptive parents raised him. He was a rebel child who didn't liked the traditional schooling.
  • He dropped from college and then went to India to learn Zen Buddhism.
  • He had failed relationships.
  • He would go miles barefoot to get free food at ISKON Temple.
  • Jobs denied paternity of his daughter, Lisa Nicole Brennan which led to a legal case during early days of Apple; they eventually reconciled.
  • He used illegal drugs during college.
  • He was ousted from the company he founded, i.e. Apple.
  • His exit was choreographed by the man he hired. What a blunder Jobs?

All this could have shattered him. He failed more that we often encounter.
Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.

  • After rising to stardom, he was ousted from Apple and then he went to start a new company from scratch.
  • He build amazing companies like NEXT, Pixar
  • He was one of the member of Board of Directors of Walt Disney.
  • After rebuilding various other companies, he made a re-entry to APPLE and then served as a CEO to take the companies to reach new heights.
  • He was a man of steel with a rock solid determination.
You did that Steve. I love the way you embraced your failures. You are known as a perfectionist. But, you were far from perfect...yet I admire you as you're imperfectly perfect.
You're a youth icon because your life story is a tussle between failures and your strong determination. You won Jobs. Your life was truly remarkable.
Even Cancer couldn't kill you glory. You're immortal Jobs. We love you as you give us hope that no matter what happens...we can always make a comeback.
Salute!
