Life in the time of Coronavirus - How to survive your quarantine?

Many people are getting bored in absence of human interaction, they are missing their office as they are working from home now. We can't change the situation but Following tips will help make us sail through this with positivity.

1. Be Creative and learn something new- Turn this downtime as an opportunity to learn something new. You can learn to paint, sketch, make some DIY home decors, or learn a new recipe.
2. Pursue some indoor hobbies- There are many things that you have long forgotten doing for not having enough time. Try doing it like Reading a book, writing fond memories of past in your diary, etc.
3. Music- Play soulful music and it will brighten your mood. Also, many videos of people dancing and singing while in quarantine will brighten your day.
4. Family Time- Many people got an opportunity to spend more time with family. Better to grab this opportunity and spend quality time inside your home.
5. Increase your knowledge- Get this time to increase your knowledge. Learn what ever fascinates you. I took a course on things to know about Coronavirus and got certificate of completion from Alison. Many MOOCs are offering abundant knowledge. We just need  an internet connection and a laptop/desktop or mobile to start learning.
6. Watch your favourite TV shows/ channels- It is quite possible that you didn't got enough time to watch your favourite TV shows, but now you can watch Discovery, National Geographic Channel or your favourite comedy shows.
7. Watch movies that are inspiring or funny or per your liking. You can find them on Hotstar/ Netflix/ JioTV/ or any other online platform and feel happy.
8. Keep positive outlook and enough food and essential items in house- Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Keep stock of enough food for 1 month and essential commodities in your home so that you can survive without stepping outside. But don't panic and overstock.

History has seen numerous pandemics/epidemics and we as a civilization have survived all this. No matters what happens, always stay upbeat and put a brave face and fight this situation with courage and grace. We all will together sail through this situation.

Human Behavior: Why do I envy others who are successful in their field?

Congratulation to you for identifying and accepting that you are envious of others who are doing exceedingly well in their life.

It takes real guts to accept our shortcomings like Adriana Heguy has rightly mentioned. Many of us are never able to do it. As you have done it, half the problem is already solved. The other half can be dealt with by considering the following piece of advice.
  1. Be alone and try to figure out what makes you envy others.
  2. Do you want name, fame, money or anything else.
  3. You said that you envy a good musician, a beautiful actress, etc
  4. What you see or hear is different from reality.
  5. The musician who is making you envious might be using softwares and have took 100's of retakes to produce the music which you are listening.
  6. The actress whom you feel is beautiful might not be even an iota of what you are. They look beautiful because of makeup, excellent dressing sense and supporting staffs, who make them more pleasing.
  7. You are  imperfectly perfect so never compare yourself with anyone else.
  8. Follow James Altucher's advice and  let the envy go and replace it with a sense of respect for those who are doing well as it brings positivity in your life.
  9. Find your passion, follow your dream and do things that make you happy. I have a list of things that makes me happy. You can see my list and can make your list 19 things that introverts do to enjoy life?
  10. Do things you love to feel beautiful, blessed and blissful.  Be focused on your purpose in life. Chase your dreams! STAY HUNGRY STAY FOOLISH

How can a teacher make engineering subjects interesting?

Originally written on Quora in response to a Teacher, Seema Shah

A teacher can create interest in the engineering subjects by:
  • By inspiring not educating-  The roles of teachers should be to inspire an student. Excellent teachers are able to do it, eg-  I am answering the questions of Seema Ma'am while no one is asking me to do so. If she give me a homework to write answers then she might teach but by posting the questions, she has inspired many to answer it at their convenience.
  • Creativity- 5324 is 5-3+2=4, the formulas and concepts will look boring but a great teacher has the ability to find creative ways to teach something.
  • Role Play- It will be interesting if once in a while, a student can be made a teacher and  teachers sit with other students and learn what he/she is explaining. Pick random students and make the situation friendly else they will feel that it is another form of punishment.
  • Be a Friend- A personal connect with students can make the whole thing better for both teachers and students.
  • Involve students in various decision making related what has to be taught- When they feel part of the classroom then they learn in an effective way.
  • Interactive classes are more fun and rich in learning- I was a student who would tremble if he was invited to solve a question on the blackboard. When I joined the company I am working for, they sent me to their Headquarters for training on Project Management. It was the best learning experience of my life as they didn't let me  sleep. They made the classes interactive and full of activities. In two weeks, I evolved as a student.
  • Teach Engineering students like a kid- Try to gauge the interest of your students, make efforts to bring them out of their shell, add value to their experience, share some interesting/ inspiring stories so that they pay attention to you. Occasionally conduct team building activities, offer advice for their career or placement. By doing these, they will develop enormous respect for you and they will swallow the boring lessons also without complaining.
PS- I am too small a creature to offer suggestions, so if you find something worth trying then it's a pleasure. If a suggestion looks absurd, put it where it deserves- a garbage bin :P; It was a joy to answer this question

What should I do to stop worrying?

I can relate to you and hence I can suggest a simple way to deal with this:

An empty mind is a devil's workshop. Like us, our mind also want job to stay engaged and happy. When it is idle, it gets upset and try to scare us by overthinking.

A simple solution to this problem is to give brain a lot of work. Give it never ending work so that it is always engaged. Think of your brain as a jinnie who gets crazy when you don't give him work.

Always have a to-do list of things that can be done.

Give so much work to your brain that it is always busy. But, give simple activities that is easy for the brain to understand. Brain is dumb to understand if you have a to-do list with complex items like " I need a job", " I want to be happy", " I want to crack xyz exams", etc.

Break down these activities into simple doable activities.

How can I be egoless?

I don't know how to be egoless but I know how to have less ego. That works pretty fine.

You lose a bit of your ego

If you can tell someone who is younger to you by 5-6 years about your imperfections.

If you are open to their suggestions.

If you don't Judge their wisdom by their age.

If you are able to admire their intelligence, brilliance and wisdom.

If you are open to learn from anyone and everyone.

If you learn from someone junior to you at workplace or college.

By doing these, you lose a part of your ego. However, you gain enormously just by losing a little ego.

It's a continuous process. When you also give a patient ear to the suggestions of people who feel neglected like watchman, sweeper, peon, office boy, guy serving  food in canteen, you lose some ego.

Losing ego is easier than you must have thought. Why don't you try from today's onward?

Initially, you might find some hurdles but after the initial hiccups, it would be a cake walk. Take care, save little ego to fight with your spouse, else they might feel that they have married a boring person. :p

What should a man do if he is losing interest in the woman he is engaged to?

Q: I have been engaged to a girl for 2 months. We talked over phone for the last 8 months. She is not that beautiful, and she is short (5'). My parents like her family very much. After the engagement I am losing interest in her. She loves me too much. I am very confused about her.

When I saw her first I straightaway rejected the proposal, but then my parents started persuading me for this match. She belongs to a well off family. The social statuses of our families match. Both families like each other. I didn't realize her height when I saw her first as she was wearing high heels. On persuasion of my parents, I started talking to her on phone in order to discover more about her. She looks good in photographs. It is the thing which kept me believing that she looks nice. Having talked to her for such a long time, I developed a liking for her that prompted me to say "yes" for this match. However I was disappointed when i saw her on my engagement. I have conveyed to my fiancee that i don't have much interest in her. She told me to take a decision quickly whether to continue with her or not. In case my answer is still "No" she even told me that she will initiate a break up so that i will be spared from blame.

She is average in studies and other activities and i am from IIT. From the beginning itself she was asking me what is there in her that prompted me to say Yes for her. She was even saying that i could have got better match than her. I could only say that i like her easy going attitude. She never complained me about anyone/anything and this is the thing which i liked in her.
A: Are you Kidding man! You have yourself given a description about her qualities which is making me feel that she is a gem.

She is extremely beautiful as far as I can understand from the details given here. And, you also like her a lot. Only thing is that you are a bit confused as you wanted gold and you got diamond. Miracles do happen.

Don't judge her beauty by mere her external appearance. See the attitude she is carrying, she is an epitome of selfless love and devotion and you cannot find another girl as beautiful as her.

Get down on your knees, hold your ears and apologize to her.   She is really easy going but she is still a human. It must have hurt her when you told that you don't have interest in her.

You have mentioned that you are an IITian and she is average in study. Dude, take a bow from me that you are IITian. I failed to enter IIT despite two sincere efforts. But, allow me to say that she beat you in "Attitude". Take it as a compliment :)

What is your height? I was just wondering if 6'4'' Amitabh Bachchan can develop a liking for 5'2'' Jaya Bachchan then hope you can also realize that 5'0'' for girls is not a bad height.

You are a lucky guy. Your life will be beautiful with a girl with such a resolved attitude. Even after the engagement, she is ready to let you go and also to take the blame of break up on her head. Who does that?

I wish I can find someone like her. Really feeling jealous of you man!

All the best for your wedding...

Tips to be a Top Writer on Quora. How much time they devote to Quora?

We have hundreds of Top Writers and the number of hours they spend on Quora will be difficult to generalize as it depends on many things and could drastically vary from person to person.

I feel that Top Writer pay focus on Quality and they don't spend time, they invest their time on Quora.

I have interacted with few top writers and based on my experience I am sharing some tips to be a Top Writer:)
  1. Consistency-They contribute to the development of the site regularly.
  2. Selective- They are selective and will respond to a A2A only if they feel that your question will be helpful for many and is new.
  3. Smart- They are smart and they manage their time wisely. Few Top Writer I know accepted that they had become Top Writer when they least expected for it.
  4. All rounder- Quora is a better platform that any other question answer website because you will get noticed even when you answer to questions from topics which are least followed and you have few upvotes and views compared to someone writing on a popular topic.
  5. Criteria- The criteria for being a top writer is subjective with only one objective. The criteria is subjective because number of upvotes or number of views are not the only parameters. The criteria is objective because the purpose is to acknowledge the efforts of those who bring in their unique expertise and write quality answers and hence, Quora wants to retain all who are making invaluable contributions.
  6. Look beyond writing answers- Writing answers is wonderful but Quora also loves all-rounders who ask though provoking Questions and offer feedback.
  7. Self Driven- Top Writers give Feedback to other's answers through suggesting edits, merging similar questions, writing insightful comments to answers of others, upvoting quality answers , downvoting badly drafted or incorrect answers, reporting violation of any of the policy of Quora, etc. They are self driven by their passion to make Quora a wonderful and extremely helpful resource for generations to come.
  8. Writing is Editing- Top Writers like the humble man Balaji Viswanathan suggests that we should revisit our answers again and again to improvise it. After all, we are contributing to the Quora's vision of compiling the "Best Answers to any Question".
  9. Write answers to tough Questions- You may find that many worthy questions are lying unanswered while we spend our time writing the 361st answer to a question which has been flooded with answers. Mr. Balaji recommends that we should answer to questions which don't have a better answer.
  10. Follow Top Writers- Read to your favorite top writers and learn from them. Treat them as your virtual mentors and just by staying in their company, you will gradually improve as a writer and don't forget that " Good things happen when you least expect them"
  11. Be a mentor yourself- You can never grow unless you know how to share your knowledge selflessly with others. Idolize the great people we have on Quora. I also admire Ellen Vrana, who once told me to do good things to others and I am proud to say that I am able to contribute to the learning of many newcomers like me on Quora. (PS- I am a 2 month old baby on Quora)

General advice: Is Quora a Substitute to books

Your question is cute because you are 13 and I am glad to know that you feel that your Father is missing a point. I was also the same at your age.

I wish my Dad had also asked me to read literature at that time. But, anyways, he pushed me hard to improve my Maths, which is my Favorite subject till date. A strong Foundation is crucial for making a high rise building. Hence, just love your Dad for the suggestions he is giving you now.

I am of the opinion that Quora is no substitute for Books. I would only like to add that Hard work is not considered glamorous and so is reading books. But, great books take you to their own beautiful world. You can time travel to a different era. Let me give an example to support the answers of all those have agreed that reading Books is important.
I am recommending one book, The Diary of a Young Girl, which was written by Anne Frank, who was also 13 when she started to write her book. Please read her and you will develop a taste not only for reading but also for writing. I am twice your age but still I found her book amazing just because she wrote this in hiding during the terror of world war-2 in Germany.  I had read about many accounts of the World wars. But her personal story has a special place for me.

What Anne Frank, a 13 year old girl wrote 73 years ago is still relevant today, because you can relate to her even when she was from a different religion, a different country, a different era, and different circumstances. You will love to read books and I hope someday you will consider my suggestion. Cheers :)

Advice: How to stop feeling bad and depressed?

Also I have several health problems. My left arm have vein contraction, my right eye is aching and I think my right arm suffers from mild carpal tunnel syndrome. But if I tell my mom about these, she'll complain because she has to spend money for hospital. If I go to hospital when I get a job, my employer will whine that I keep taking day offs. I don't know what should I do.

Please allow me to pick up bits from your question and answer them:
  1. Unemployed- I can understand that it feels bad but there is day after night. If you are unemployed now, you will value more being in a job. Don't worry buddy, you will find one soon.
  2. Broke- Be Brave. Like everything else, this too shall pass.
  3. Living with your parents- That's amazing. I also want to live with them but I work in a different city. You are Lucky :)
  4. Balding- Guys who were balding have now clean shaved their head and they look amazing. I don't know why Robin Sharma did that but I love his appearance with a bald head.
  5. About to turn 30- Age is overrated. It is just another number. So, make sure you don't bother much about it.  Be cheerful and life will be amazing always.
  6. Friendless- I have made a great pen friend on Quora. We support each other when we are down. We cheer each other and we don't know anything about each other but understand each other well. That's the power of social networking.  Try it and you will love it.
  7. Depressed- It's OK to feel depressed at times. It helps us to figure out and give attention to things that matters. Even, one of India's top Actress, Deepika Padukone had admitted that she was recently under depression. You will bounce back stronger.
  8. Miserable-  When we touch our lowest point, chances are high that life is preparing us to touch the sky. So, fasten your seat belts and be ready for the amazing life awaiting you.
  9. How to turn around all you are experiencing? - Take baby steps and realize that you are perfectly normal and the things that are weighing you down are not that big as it seems. Though it's easier said than done!

What are the Life Lessons most people learn too Late in Life?

There are many lessons that I want to share with you but the following are my favorites:

Invest In Yourself

  • Health is wealth- There is no fun in life if we are seriously unwell. All money we have accumulated in our life also fails to get back our health.
  • Less is more- Life is all about quality not quantity. You are lucky even if you have few true friends as when the adversities come then you got to know who are your true friends.
  • Work hard Party Harder- No matter how hard you are working, always find some time to do things that makes you happy.
  • Cultivate good Hobbies- A person who has a hobby is never alone. I love reading books, writing and analyzing difficult situations and these habits I have developed in the college.
  • Utilize your College Time- It is the time when we figure out what we want to do in life. Whether we would like to startup a company or we would like to work for a MNC or a small upcoming company. It is not just about the degree you will earn.
  • People- Life is all about People. So, wherever you go value people. Respect them, add value to their life through your association. I am trying to add value for those who are reading this. Thank you for being patient to read me.
  • Network- Nowadays, it is more important that whom you know. It is not about buttering or greasing someone's palm. I am bad at networking because I considered this as bad. How stupid I was? It is the best thing you can do for yourself.
  • Positive Attitude- Once a CEO asked two people whether they can do a job. It was an impossible task that the CEO was entrusting on them. The First person was honest about his feelings and told that it is not possible to get it done in the given time. The CEO called another person and asked the same question. He  answered that although it seems difficult but I am sure that I can do it with your support. The CEO nodded in affirmation. The second person asked for more resources and more authority to get the work done. The CEO agreed. Later, the second person really get that work done and the CEO informed everyone that the second person was having a Positive attitude and hence he trusted him more than the first one.

Some Myths

  • We are not Hypocrites- No one is 100 % hypocrite but Everyone is a Hypocrite to a certain degree. It is pretty human. I often say that I am indifferent to appreciation or criticism but that is not 100% true. However, it is definitely true that I am less influenced by criticism or appreciation with respect to many who are in and around me. So, do check if any of your behavior is similar to me.
  • Our Problems are terribly difficult- Our problems are not as difficult as it seems to us. Let me support this with justification. Time travel to your childhood and you would find that your biggest problems were doing homework, taking permission from Mom to go out to Play, Get a Candy, etc. Are they significant today? Ofcourse not. You will love to remember all those problems and it will make you smile. Similarly, 20 years down the line it will hardly matter if you got a plum job after college or you are jobless, if you have a gf/bf or not in college, if you have failed in the exams or have topped it. Meet me after 20 years and we will discuss your current problems over coffee.
  • I am Good for Nothing-  Everything in this universe is for some purpose. Even the stone at the top of the mountain has some purpose. We are humans; maybe we have done something good in our previous lives and hence have been rewarded. So, never believe that you are Good for Nothing.

Crocodile cannot fly and Butterfly cannot swim- There is no point for the crocodile to feel bad that he cannot fly or the butterfly to feel bad for not being also to swim. Doesn't it makes sense. Same is with all of us. We just need to identify things which makes us happy.
  • I have wasted X years of my life- We feel that we have wasted our life but you know, nothing is wasted in this world. Do you know the story of bamboo tree?  It doesn’t show sign of growth in first four- five years. But, in the next one year it will grow rapidly. Now, the reality is that the growth doesn't occur only in one year, it happens over a period of 5-6 years.

During the first 5 years the growth of roots is happening and the foundation is getting stronger which let the bamboo to grow rapidly in last one year. Same is with all of us. We just need six months to a year to have a visible growth. All the years before that are definitely not wasted. Believe me.  Good experience gives you joy, bad experience build your character and personality. So, they both are equally important.
  • I don't have Natural Talent-  Galileo told that the earth moves around the sun. But at that time, Everyone  felt that he was wrong and people wanted to kill him. Everyone knew that  Earth was fixed and sun revolved around the earth, which was later proved wrong . Galileo was considered as a mad man all his life. The poor chap got all the recognition after his death. Even today all our textbooks are full with works of  Galileo.

You  can't do much about others  but can make Galileo your role model. Not only him, Abraham Lincoln was unable to win even a local election, all his life he failed in whatever he did. He failed more than us for sure and see one day he became the president of US. It was not luck but hard work. Remember the bamboo story. See it's working.
  • I am waiting for the perfect moment- There is nothing called perfect moment. Try to get the maximum out of whatever you have. Minimize Procrastination, and never wait for the perfect moment. Life happens when we wait for the perfect moment.
  • I don't have zeal to learn- Larry Page invented Google and it became a dream company for many.  He just followed his passion. may be he was also not having the zeal to learn or work on the traditional subjects. So he created something new.
  • It will not work out- Follow your heart and chase your dreams as they are worth it. There is nothing which can't work out even when the idea looks ridiculous to others. The key is that you must believe in the idea, that’s it.

In India, almost everyone loves cricket and is a cricket commentator. But, that doesn't stopped Harsha Bhogle from becoming a full time Cricket Commentator after his post graduation from IIM Ahmadabad. He must have been mocked for his choice of profession but he had passion for it and he pursued something he loved doing.

If you are a Movie Buff - You can be an expert reviewer and can also earn and get paid for watching movies and writing reviews.

Secret Of Happiness

  • There is no secret ingredient.
  • Don't chase happiness as you can never achieve it. Rather, Chase your dreams, Follow your heart, Slow down a bit and smell the roses, Smile at a stranger, Make a pen friend, Call you Mom/Dad/loved ones and you will find happiness instantly.
  • Saying that you don't have time to improve your thoughts is like saying you don't have time to stop for fuel because you are too busy driving.
  • The secret of Happiness is to find out what you love and then directing all your energy towards doing it.
PS- The inspiration for this answer is from a pen friend on Quora. We don't know much about each other but we share our thoughts and counsel each other. Thank you  for sharing your problem with me which helped me write this. :)
Please feel free to ping me if you have anything to ask. You can also check out various life lessons in the form of my quora answers and articles at the webpage Career Advice & Guidance

What important things a 19 years old should know?

I am going in flashback to my 19th year to answer this question. I was a freshman at college and here is my sincere advice to my 19 year old self:)
  • Passion- Do things you are passionate about. Write down the list of things you love doing and pursue them.
  • Not getting into your preferred college (IIT) is not a bad thing if you focus on what you have got rather that fretting about what you have missed.
  • Mistakes- Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them.
  • Friends- It is the time to make life long friends. Cultivate good relationships that will make your life beautiful.
  • Volunteer- Look beyond yourself. There are many causes to which you can lend your hand. Try it and you will relish the experience.
  • Learn- Learn new things which are not related to your subject of expertise. It will broaden your horizon and deepen your Insight.
  • Start early- Identify what you want to do in life. Don't follow the rat race. Create your own path and start early
  • Take the escalator- Always think creatively and don't try to climb a ladder when you can take an escalator.
  • People- Nurture enriching relationship with people online and offline. In today's world, although it's important what you know but it is more important whom you know. [ For example, Most of the US Universities ask for reference when you opt for higher studies]
  • Eat well- Yes, the metabolism is good at that time so you need not worry about putting on weight. Just enjoy your favorite foods.
  • Cultivate Hobbies- Read books, write, watch movies, play sports, collect stamps, do anything which makes you happy. These hobbies will make your life interesting and meaningful.
  • Don't judge your parents- Sooner or Later you will realize that your Dad was always right!
  • Don't ignore your loved one. Be it Family, Friends or anyone- The biggest casualty of the " who cares" attitude of a 19 year old teenager is his/her loved ones.  Never Hurt a heart that loves you because wounded hearts are like crushed flowers than never bloom again.
  • Dream- Don't be afraid to see dreams as those who dream can make it a reality someday. Dream Big and Chase your Dreams. Never settle for small things.
  • Choices- Life is all about the choices we make. Try many things but don't get addicted to them. Don't blindly follow something just because it makes you look cool.
  • Failures- Learn to celebrate Failures. They are the thankless job done by God to make you stronger.
  • Be comfortable in your skin- When your stop worrying about how you look and start feeling comfortable in your skin then you truly enjoy life.

How do I recover from this situation?

Question on Quora

I'm working in a startup and is now bankrupt and I got recently but employer is not able to pay our salary properly means i didn't receive complete salary of my last 2 month and i got another offer from another company they are demanding bank statement. but in bank my salary is not completed transferred but i have all other proof such as receiving letter, appraisal letter, salary slip etc.

My Response

Hello,

Please share your offer letter, appraisal letter, salary slip etc. with the company you want to join. Kindly know that asking for bank statement is not a norm in most of the companies.

If your prospective employer still insist in bank statement. Be honest and tell them the real scenario that your current company is going through a lean patch and has not paid your complete salary.

It is definitely not your fault if your current employer is unable to pay your legitimate compensation.

Be honest about the situation and remember that you are not a victim of the situation but the architect of your future.

Still, if your prospective employers are not convinced then probably they don't deserve a brilliant candidate like you.

For any type of guidance, get back to me.

Which are the Ideas to start Business with Rupees 10,000 ?

My Response to a Question on Quora

I understand that you want to know business ideas which are dirt cheap. I have many but I work for a Engineering Giant and my work contract doesn't allow me to do business.

My advice is that do something related to your skills or interests so that you enjoy the process.  Business is all about hard work and Passion. You have to come out of your comfort zone and have to make your hands dirty. I am sharing what can work for me, definitely you may get some idea.

  1. Consultancy- I had reported regarding few misleading TVCs which were upheld by ASCI and the advertisers have to take down their TV Commercials. I am sure that if I would extend my expertise to MNC Advertisers so that they don't end up losing huge money on creating misleading ads. The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has featured me as ASCI Ambassador to recognize my efforts in combating misleading advertisements.
  2. Career/Job Counselor- I would spend 5000 Rupees on publishing pamphlets and would personally go to housing complex and Malls to explain my target audience about what I can offer  for free? Career Advice & Guidance . If it will be a profession then my Policy will be pay as you wish.
  3. Teaching-I stay in a Housing complex which has around 2500 Flats and I am sure that there are enough students whom I can assemble to teach them Maths. Again, my Policy will be pay as you wish.
  4. Blogging/Writing Articles-With Rs, 10,000, I can buy a coffee to more than 50 popular bloggers from Mumbai. Cool! So, I would like to send my articles to them and if they select me then they can pay whatever they like. I hope I can earn by submitting my articles to some websites.
  5. Interview & soft skills- One College friend called last Sunday to learn from me the nuisance of facing interviews. I was flattered that even after leaving college 4 years ago, people remember me for what I always loved."Why should I hire you"?
  6. Startup Consultant ( Freelancer)- Startups are dynamic places. I often write feedback to founders and co-founders and I have received appreciation and even offers from them for different roles. I wish I could accept a part time job at a  start ups as consultant.
  7. Consumer rights–There are numerous incidents where I got my money refunded when I was not happy with the service or product.  But this was amazing when an eCommerce company went out of the way to turn me from an unhappy customer into their ardent fan. I can definitely be a full time consumer rights activist or consultant:)
  8. Sell on Qlx/Quikr-  I can be an agent who can put advertisements for you on Qlx and Quikr and can fetch you huge sum for your second hand products. I did it for my Boss and he got the offer of 8500 Rs as against Rs 1500 offered  in a buy back scheme for his double door refrigerator.
  9. I can search something for you, if you can't find it anywhere.Trust me, My friends call me Google. But, How much will you pay for that :)
If you have liked any of the ideas, I would love to know. If I find you interesting and you are in Mumbai, then I can buy you a coffee :)

Am I on the right path?

Question : I don't feel like following any God, but I am afraid of my family. I can't confess this in front of my parent, but can't follow anything blindly now. How do I know that I am on the right path?

Answer: Yes, you are on the right path..just don't worry too much about it

Even God wants Attention, we are just humans

It happens at times when we question either our existence or that of god or probably of both.

I feel that this phase is really important for our personal discovery .It is a fact that we remember god mostly when things don't go our way. So, it can be god's way of seeking attention. Who knows?

My Advice: We all have very limited time on this planet. So, rather that thinking too much about these questions. You must focus to redirect your energies to explore yourselves. Learn more about yourself, stretch your boundaries, push your limits, explore new things, make new friends, love & get loved , don't worry about making mistakes and keep learning.

The struggles in life makes us stronger, faster and better. When your confidence has touched the rock bottom then only you can bounce back to touch the mountains...

Keep enjoying your present moments, do things which brings you to life and    always be a child at heart.

Which is the best company to work for in India?

Best is too vague a term for answering this question.

A company can be best for one person but can be a nightmare for another.

Please know that a company should be chosen as best or worst based on the importance you give to the following criteria:

Money, Power, passion, work satisfaction, job security, work culture, work -life balance, opportunities to learn, location, opportunities for higher study,  Perks and Perquisite, and so on.

  • Google may be a dream company for many but someone who wants to start a company of his own might not feel that Google is the best company (I mean he will not stick to Google always)
  • L&T is well respected  as the Largest Engineering based company in India but not everyone feels that it is the best place to work for. In fact, you can go crazy to see the diversity in response!!!
  • NTPC/ONGC/BHEL and other PSUs are a dream job for most Indians but I know people who have quit those jobs to join companies like Flipkart
  • My sister is an awesome coder but couldn't make it to Deloitte however her friend who was terrible at coding but had outstanding communication skills got through it. ( Before Deloitte came, I was telling her that it the one of the best company for you. Yesterday I told her, Deloitte was not good for you. You must go to a company where you get an opportunity to write brilliant codes. You can say grapes are sour but one can't fret over one lost opportunity. Isn't it?

Do I need permission to share link of other bloggers?

Response to a Ask to Answer on Quora

Q: If I am creating a blog on Top 10 something or content aggregation/curation website, do I need to ask permission from other bloggers before posting their link?
After all I am increasing traffic to their blog!

A: Hi Yoshita, I don't think anyone will object to that. However, when ever in doubt, contact the blogger whose link you are sharing. In fact they will be more than happy.

One free advice: I don't know your purpose of blogging. But would request you to have a mission for your blog.

Blogging is not a tool for earning money as it may take years to get the traffic to earn from it.  I would suggest you to start blogging only if you are truly passionate about writing.

Do it, if you have passion for blogging. I have written 6 practical tips to start blogging. It will be helpful for you. you can find it on my blog Life is Beautiful .

Do get back to me if you require any other help.  Thanks for A2A.

And yes, you can use the links of my articles, if they are worth.
