One of the most overrated things in life

AGE

Age is one of the most overrated things in Life.

Mom: You are working for four years. People ask me why we are not getting you married. We are getting older..bla..bla..bla..

Me: ( on a firm note) I am not going to marry for at least a couple of years. Even Dad worked for 7 years before getting married.

Mom: Why you are comparing with him? He was youngest child of his parents. You are eldest.  And, you told your generation is different.

Me: I am following my Dad :P

Mom: You asked me once that why Dad was married so late.

Me: (wondering) Did I ever said that? (!) ( Goes blank) Mom, I'm in office, call you tonight :)

I am just wondering if I am the only one in the age group of 25-27 years, whose parents are behind them to get married.

How it feels to have a sister of of one's own age group?

Having a sister in the same age group is one of the best thing that can happen to you. Even if you have a younger or an elder sister, you are equally blessed.

How it feel?

At times, you feel like being the luckiest person on this planet.

When she understands that you are having some trouble without she being explicitly told so. And, then the way she will comfort you. Priceless!

They are the angels sent by God for some good karma. They come in form of a biological sister, a friend who is also a sister, or a cousin. So, all can have a sister in life.

No matter whether you are elder, younger or of the same age, you are always a bit protective, possessive and concerned about their well-being.

You know or need to know how to be there for them always without infringing their personal space.

You become a Bodyguard when you are together in a crowded place. You do that job with utmost sincerity.

You pamper them with love but you never tell them how much you love them. You pull their leg, make them feel that you hate them but you care for them always.

You hate that someday you have to let her go to someone else's place who you wish loves her more than you.

Dedicated to my sisters :)

Does love has any definition.

Yes, love have definition, in fact it has many definitions. It is a subjective topic. I have my definition, you can have your own.

Love is to care for someone without showing them how much we love them. It is a feeling which is the base of all the relations we have. Love is an experience which can be only felt.

Your parents needn't say "I love you" to express how much they love you. Neither your brother nor sister need to tell you that they love you. But, they care for you. Maybe, they will show as if they hate you but they love you more that you can ever imagine.

Your Pet will not say " I love you". It will come and show you what's love. It can only be felt like all the beautiful things of this world.

What Comes after Failure?

The seeds of success are sown in our darkest failures. All great successes were once failures.

- When telephone was invented it was mocked as of little use.

- Charles Darwin was considered a wanderer and a bit mad. It was only after he turned 50, published his famous book and people started recognizing him and his contributions.

- Edison saw his factory made with his hard work burn in front of his eyes. He said, there is no baggage of past. Now,I can start afresh.

- Abharam Lincoln failed so many times. He could not even won a local election but later on in life he won the presidential election to become President of US.

- A bamboo tree has a unique way of growth. You take so much care for 4-5 years but they will show little growth. And, after 5 years, they will get sudden growth in 1 year

But, I am wrong, the growth of bamboo is not happening in just last year. In the first five years, the bamboo gets a strong foundation which enables it to withstand the growth which is visible. That's Life.

Failures are the best things that happens to us. Sometimes we fail to recognize their  importance.

Failures are the thankless jobs that god do to bring us closer to success.

Saddest feeling in the World

  1. To see a orphan child missing her Mom.
  2. To see an old man with many children and grandchildren feeling extremely lonely in his last days ( Feel the pain of an old man)
  3. When dreams shattered without making any noise...
  4. When your love is not getting reciprocated and you feel dejected.
  5. When you let down your parents.
  6. When someone irritates you but you can't retaliate because he is your BOSS.
  7. When you see  visuals of news of natural calamity like Nepal Earthquake, Uttarakhand Floods or Terrorist attacks like Mumbai Blasts of 26/11 or World Trade Center Attack of 9/11.
  8. When not even a single person of this planet understands you.
  9. The smallest coffins are the heaviest. Nothing could be saddest that lifting the coffin of one's child. # Peshawar School Terrorist Attack

An example of absence of mind

Phone rings

He- Hello dear, how come you call?
She- I have asked you something. Companies are coming in a week's time for campus placement. Have you checked my queries that I have mailed you.

He- I was busy? I will check out your mail.
( It has been 2 days and 3 reminder calls from his sister)

She- What are you doing these days, the workload has increased in Office?
He- Not really, but after office, I am busy  on Quora or writing blogposts. You know, many people ping me for help. It feels good to help others.
She- Ok, I remembered something. I have to go. Bye!
He- Bye!

After 5 minutes, He got a notification for A2A from Anonymous, The question was

What to do if your brother is helping everyone but can't find time for your queries?"

He exclaimed, Oh! it's my sister  :(

*facepalm*

What are some things that feel good for the first time?

Things that felt good
  • My First salary, I had never earned a penny before that via scholarship or internship.
  • My First Friend, made as a Kid is still a best friend.
  • My First Family Trip abroad, because never expected that to happen.Travel Diary: Once upon a time in Singapore
  • My First Job Offer by TCS, didn't joined but really respect them for their choice :P
  • My First day at School, couldn't remember anything clearly
  • Seeing my newborn brother and sister for the first time.
  • Touching the legs and hands of a newborn baby, amazing touch. :)
  • My First ride on my bicycle

Cycling- My First ride on my bicycle

You have all rights to laugh at me but probably after reading a bit more you might feel sorry for me. :P

Me- Dad, All my friends have bicycle. I also want to have a cycle.
Dad- Ok, I will buy it on your Birthday. But, why don't you learn it from your friends.
Me-  I will learn. ( I was literally dancing in my thoughts)

I think I was in class 6th when I went to a Government Office's compound with my friend to learn cycling. But, my friend got too excited to see the huge compound and started cycling. He was not paying heed to my requests to teach me cycling.  So, I chased him and got hold of him but he fell with the cycle on me.

I got scared and told my friend not to tell anyone that I have injured my head. I came back home that evening and slept hoping it will be all ok when I would wake up. But, I got a big swelling in the morning and had to tell my parents about it. I felt ashamed that I fell from cycle and so told that I fell in the bathroom.

They somehow agreed to my logic that I was sleepy and fell on the slippery floor in the bathroom. After few days, my parents got to know from my friend that I fell while riding bicycle.

So, I was scolded for telling lie. But, it was also not true as I didn't cycled. I only chased my friend who was cycling. I don't know why I never told the reality.

After that incident, I never asked Dad for buying a cycle and never tried to learn it till I was in Class-9th. It was summer vacation and I was ashamed that even kids half my age knew how to cycle. So, finally learned it during that vacation and it was one of the best feelings that I could also ride a bicycle.

Small joys of Childhood are more special that the so called big things I have experienced in Life.

A wonderful experience with a stranger

What a mid-aged unemployed man taught me?

At a chicken shop on a Sunday morning

A  fifty something man came at the shop and we exchanged smile. He asked the seller to give some discount as it is difficult to survive as an unemployed in this city.

It catched my attention!

Then we started talking,

Me: Hello! You stay here or have came for vacation
He: I came here to find a job. My company got shut down.
Me: Oh!
He: What do you do?
Me: I am an Engineer at L&T
He: Oh! L&T is very good company, never leave it.
Me: Just smiled (didn't knew what to say)
He: You are bachelor or planning to marry soon
Me: I am a bachelor. My parents are looking for a suitable match.
He: I will give you a very good advice.
Me: What?
He: Always get to know the true nature of the mother of the girl you will marry? It matters alot in deciding the family values of the daughter.
Me: I was just listening to his advice without judging it as I could feel the person was charming and I liked his conversation.
He: I am jobless and I have came to my daughter's place. I need to quickly find out a job and settle again.
Me: (felt bad) Offered him advice to start searching for jobs on job portal sites and registering to local consultancies.
He: I liked talking to you. Can I have your number.
Me: Yes, its 73xxxxxxx5. I also took his number and then we both came to the same housing complex with 2500 plus flats where we both stayed.
( Little surprised to realize that we stay in an urban village. We hardly know our neighbours!!
-----
There is nothing special about this conversation but I liked the experience. Sometimes we are able to share so many things with strangers which we might not even feel comfortable to share with near and dear one.
The middle aged man was an epitome of hope, despite losing his job at around 50 years of age, He was cheerful. When freshers don't get job or are at a job they don't enjoy then frustration starts to creep in.
My generation needs to learn from unsung heroes like him who are always upbeat about life. He was a positive person and despite going through a tough phase in life. He made me realize what experience teaches man.

There is more to life than cribbing about our own problems.

An Embarrassing Moment

Me: Bhaiya , dus rupaiye ka baadam dena ( Brother, give me nuts of 10 rupees)

Shopkeeper : Handed over a packet to me and I was leaving but suddenly when I turned back the next buyer asked the shopkeeper that  " dus rupaiye me kon sa baadam milta hai" ( which nuts you get in ten rupees). The shopkeeper told, garib log singdana ( mungfali)  ko hi baadam bolte hai ( the poor call the groundnut as baadam (normally used for almond)

Me: Was embarrassed a bit but laughed it off as I come from a place where groundnut is called as baadam whereas for most baadam is a hindi word for Almonds.

An interesting incident

Scene: (During exam time) My siblings were fighting. Suddenly my sister complains to my Father that my brother is not letting her study.

Dad-  (In a philosophical tone) Those who want to study can study anywhere. When I was your age, I didn't had so many facilities. I used to go  in the backyard and study under the tree. My fingers still has impressions of the pen as I used to practice a lot. (Now he was showing his fingers)

Sister-  I have seen your fingers. You have shown it many times.........

(There after we all had a good laugh and my father never told the when I was you age kinda thing again....)

Something new....for the first time

"Life becomes very interesting when we live each day to the fullest."
On 15th Jan10, I had seen the solar eclipse for the first time. The sun was looking like the moon. I saw it through a x-ray sheet. It was a very nice experience. On the same day, I played a couple of volleyball matches for the very first time. I was playing with my class-mates, who were co-operating very much with the new players like me. It was their friendly behaviour that made me quite comfortable at the court. On the court, everybody was filled with true sportsmanship.
