Love is not blind: The story of a marriage

One of my distant cousin married a girl who was definitely not beautiful going by the appearance. He was extremely handsome so people often used to say that he fall for a girl who was no match to his personality.

People didn't noticed that she was the best companion for my cousin. He was the happiest on his wedding. Still, people were wondering what made my cousin fall in love with my sister-in-law. They could only infer that, "Love is Blind".

But, I believe that love is not blind. Rather, all those who judge a person as ugly or beautiful just by their appearance are acting as blind. Love is able to look beyond the external appearance. Love looks at the hidden attributes of a person.

Love is able to see the beauty of the heart and mind of the other person. I don't consider a person with an ugly heart but beautiful appearance as beautiful. So, sorry for this unpopular answer but " Beautiful girls often fall for beautiful boys" and so is the case with boys.  Rohan Sinha's answer to What is love? 

Beauty is a subjective thing. I find it  in intelligence, wit, compassion, kindness, small gestures and don't care much about the appearance. The positive aura of a person is the most desirable thing for me. Even, I make friends who have a positive aura and those whom I call my friend are truly beautiful. Others may have their own definitions.

Perfection is a hype. Once you love someone you love their imperfections as well. In-fact it is the imperfections which makes us more beautiful and special. Else the 6'4" tall Amitabh Bachchan wouldn't have stayed together with his wife 5'2" tall Jaya Bachchan.You just need one person who can see your beauy, so don't worry even if you haven't found your special someone. 

There is someone for everyone like there is a key for every lock.

Are Arrange marriage getting outdated in India

You have asked a question that pinched me and hence I am voicing my views about the same.

Arrange marriages are here to stay. They are not going anywhere. I am sensitive, yes, I hide it, but it's true. So, I try to do all the things that are possible to shield myself from being hurt. But, I never felt that I was missing something in life being single.

I had a perception early in life that the conversion of love relationship into marriage is slim. So, as a shy, reserved guy, I got an excuse to stay alert not to fall in love. I don't have regrets, even those who loved and lost should not regret because life is all about experiences. They have experienced love and hurt. I missed that roller coaster ride but have some other memories to cherish.

As I was not in a relationship so I had my own share of pros and cons. When my college friend would travel 1000 miles to meet love of his life. We felt good for him but when they parted. He was heartbroken, even we felt so bad for him. He got addicted to all the wrong things and has been admitted to Rehabilitation center. He failed in more that 15 subjects which all got cleared subsequently after we passed out.

His parents had put spy behind him.  He was cheerful and positive person in first year but his breakup broke him completely. By the way, now he overcame all this. If I were in his position, i might have been hit harder and hence I chose to be a coward and stay away from relationships. What a story?

Everybody is the architect of their life. I chose to be Single and yes, occasionally it felt awkward because of what we see in and around us. I will not mind if one finds me incompetent to find love on my own. I never tried, I never failed and probably it's a failure in itself. I don't know.

I am sure that the girl who will come to my life will be a wife as well as a girlfriend. She will be loved beyond limits, my inexperience in dating and relationship will never make me a bad choice. I will learn all that, after all, I do want to know how does feels to have a girlfriend. 

Arrange marriage is not outdated. They are a popular option to get married, and we all must be thankful that it accepts everyone with open arms. So, whether you have been single, have love and lost or have loved and converted that into an arrange marriage. It's for everyone, indeed. It is not going anywhere till I get married. :)

1. Are you on Quora? ( Have asked the same question to freshers who came to my office couple of months ago and all of them were on Quora). Barring them, Quora is alien to our office. We have bonded over Quora.

I think if the answer to this question is "Yes" then no other ice breaker will be needed.

Other questions will be cake walk like whom do you follow/ admire, favourite topics, etc. 

Then I will go and read all that she wrote. Nothing connects better than writing:)

What is meant by " Just Kidding"?

"Just kidding" is used after something you really mean but don't have the courage to admit it, so you fake it as a joke.

Example:

A and B were more than just friends. From long time,  A wanted to propose B.  But, he didn't had the courage to do it. Somehow, he managed to speak out his mind like this

A: I love you!
B: You are a great friend. I always see you as a friend.
A: I was Just Kidding! (He was not kidding. Friendzoned! Heartbroken!)

They talked for another 10 minutes and after that A went to his cave and put his ear plug to listen to " Sach keh raha hai deewana dil na kisi ka dukhana jhuthe hain pyar ke waade saare jhoothi hai pyar ki kasme..."

Translation: You must never fall in love as it's a lie. ( I know the translation is terrible!)

"Just kidding"  has been invented by an introvert who wanted to help his brethren. Hehe...Just kidding!

How do I help my friend overcome his sadness?

Boys often go in their den when they are having any problem which they are unable to share with even close ones. Trust me, he is behaving normally. The day he will get over his worry he bounce back happier and stronger.

Let him solve his problems on his own, I am sounding crazy as I know that normally girls share their woes with others and it makes them feel better. You are a sweet girl who wants to help her friend. But, please understand that he don't want to burden you with his worries.

He is behaving like me. Sometimes, I feel that sharing my problems with my loved ones with only make them feel bad which I don't want. So, I have found a solution. I have some amazing friends online. I am often comfortable sharing my problems with them. It is really working for me.

PS- I am safely presuming that he will chose wisely about what to share and what not to share with people whom he has not met.

It is in your hand to work harder to make your dream a reality.  I have always chased my dreams, no matter whether I failed or succeeded, but I was always in control of the situation. When I failed, I was responsible. When I succeeded I was responsible. 

Definitely, It is a great feat to achieve your dream (career). But

Getting true love from a girl is not in your hand. It's your karma, destiny or luck. You can't work harder to get or find one. And, that's why getting loved from a girl is greater.

Two States Marriage- Love with find the way

Love have no barrier. One of my old friend is from North and he is married to a girl from South. 

My friend's family was conservative but they agreed to get them married just to make their son happy. I really don't know about the the reaction of the girl's family as I never asked them about it.

When the girl was with her in-laws for a few days just after marriage, it was a fun for everyone. Her father-in-law would tell his neighbors that she is very caring. She didn't knew Hindi and and so used signs and gestures to invite her father-in- law for lunch, breakfast, etc. 

Her North Indian in-laws were full of praise for her Idlis, Dosa, etc. 

When there is love and understanding , all other things fall in place. There will be hurdles, trivial or serious, but love will find the way.
