Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected. - Steve Jobs
Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.” ― Henry Ford
Generally, for growing our business we have a Marketing Strategy. How often companies recognize whether they can do marketing through their quality standards. Is Quality an Effective Marketing Tool? Yes, it is. Quality is king. Companies have to change their perception regarding Quality. The next-gen marketing must revolve around quality. Quality is not something which can be induced from external sources. It is an integral part of our life and our work culture.
We cannot achieve anything unless the quality of our work is good. In this fast paced world, sometimes we feel that giving more priority to quality affects the progress of the work at hand. However, many will be glad to know that actually it is the other way round, i.e. adhering to quality norms is the sure shot formula of progress. A poor quality product or service is a waste of time, effort and money. Not only this, it brings disrepute. Whereas, good quality is something which delights, motivate and encourage to work.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever- Taj Mahal wouldn't have been made if cost or marketing would have been the area of focus of Shah Jahan instead of the Quality.
Working by following all the quality checks, controls and procedures will result in fewer or no reworks and less wastage or rejection. So, ultimately it will result in better end product. If people strive to do justice to their job by doing quality work then the progress will be enhanced. It promotes a culture of doing things correctly in one go. Thus, saving millions of rupees on rework and reckless marketing as a better product will sell with minimum marketing efforts.
We, Indians are very cost conscious but we also have to be quality conscious to reach new heights. In this competitive world, everyone is trying to outdo others by becoming more and more cost effective. Also, every company is trying unique marketing tactics and gimmicks but sadly a simple focus on quality as a marketing instrument is often missing. We can create benchmark by maintaining impeccable quality standards. It is the only way to beat the competition and go far ahead from our competitors.
We have wonderful examples which prove that quality enhances progress and reduces reliability on pure marketing for driving sale. Do you know how Apple sustained the cut throat competition in the mobile manufacturing industry? Apple has its own customer base that appreciates and admires its products. They purchase the apple products despite high cost because of outstanding quality. The quality of apple is driving the company forward. On the other hand, cheap Chinese phones have a reputation of being a use and throw product due to poor quality standards. Marketing without engaging Quality is the past. I can see that very soon most companies will shift their focus on the quality of the product and it will feature in their revised marketing strategy.
Outstanding Quality standards enhance the customer delight and results is more revenue for the company. It is more important than pure marketing as it acts as an outstanding marketing tool. It signifies the progress of the company which in turn is contributing in the progress of the nation and the world at large. We are working for the nation and have contributed to the wonderful gateway to the world- Our new Mumbai International Airport.  So, trust us Quality is the new mantra for marketing.
