Do you view Internet friends as real friends?

A real friend is a friend with whom you are comfortable sharing your life problems. Not everyone is interested in taking time to help you get over your problems. People would flock with you when you throw party every now and then. But, they don't have any respect for your friendship.

Coming to the question, Internet friends can be real friends provided they clear the stringent test of trustworthiness and they have a positive persona.

People used to be Pen friends even before Internet was born. Letters were exchanged even when there were no whatsapp, Facebook, Skype, etc. Friendship is all about Trust and the connect you feel with a person. You are a friend to someone when you feel happy in their presence (online/offline). There are many people who make fake profiles and would try to befriend others for ill-intentions. That's a dark side of internet, barring that, Internet is a powerful source to meet like-minded people across the globe.

Please don't feel hurt when your online friend disappear at times and come after a couple of weeks to inform that they were on a vacation. I know that when you are emotionally attached with someone then you start expecting to know these as you would expect this from the friends surrounding you.

But, only a single advice for you, It you value a person, accept them as they are. Everyone has a different culture, may be they are not accustomed to your's way of thinking. In an appropriate way, explain your friend that it bothers you when they disappear for weeks as you care for them. I'm sure, that wouldn't be a problem for your internet friends to let you know about their vacations before they disappear the next time :)
