This is a biased answer as I am working for L&T Construction on it's prestigious Mumbai International Airport Project and I am happy with the challenging roles offered here.
I am working in Mumbai and people will treat you with respect when they come to know that you are in L&T. The reason being the strong base of L&T in Mumbai.
Go to any restaurant in Powai and ask for corporate discount ranging from 10-20%. (Well this is available for all the big corporates)
They provide employees with the best facilities. You will still find people complaining because " Ye dil maange more" (People want more).
The work is challenging, the salary, perks and perquisite are good. The fully furnished free accommodation is awesome. No electricity bills to pay, No hassle of renewing rent agreements, No deposit money to be submitted for accommodation. You needn't spent a penny on commuting to and from office.
The Snacks, Refreshment are free and Meals are heavily subsidized. And, working on a Project gives a startup culture in a MNC.
Going to see off your relatives or friend on the International Airport when you have Airport Entry Pass is an incredible experience. You feel like a host and people are amazed that you can go to see off them till they go for boarding. Normal visitor passes don't ensure this :)
For me, it has been a roller coaster ride. Your work pressure fluctuates like the share market but there is fun in working on a project that touches life of millions of people.
By the way, Sapoorji Pallonji is also good. One of our colleague joined the Riyadh Metro Project of S&P. Employees of L&T go to S&P and vice versa.
As a fresher, enjoy whatever you get to learn, be flexible, work hard initially as gradually you would be in a position to deal with works in a better way. Don't consider any work as unworthy and less important. Focus of learning and don't bother much about the company you are working for. Be cheerful and all the best for a successful career.
